As we learned in class, the Russian campaign was the beginning of the end of Napoleon for many obvious reasons. Now historians have discovered a coded letter from Napoleon where he admits it himself. The letter also explains that he planned to "blow up the Kremlin" on his way out of Moscow. The Kremlin is where the Russian government meets. Check out this story from NBC News about the letter and the code.

This past week, Saturday Night Live did a sketch where a mock public service announcement features undecided voters who ask really ridiculous questions. The sketch implies that those voters who remain undecided in this election are probably like that because they are highly uninformed. While it is just an exaggerated satire, it begs the question: how far off is this sketch from the truth?

For your assignment, please watch the video of the sketch, then read this article from the Christian Science Monitor considering the real reasons for undecided voters. You should answer the following questions and bring them into class:

1. Which do you believe is more likely: undecided voters are intelligent, but just not interested, or undecided voters are both unintelligent and not interested?
2. Is there anything wrong with being an undecided voter this late in the election season? If not, what problems do you have with SNL's sketch? If so, what should these voters have done by now?
3. Does it really matter? Do you believe these voters will actually show up on election day?
4. Does this fact that there are so many uninformed voters out there say something about our political process?

As we discussed in World History II CP, I believe that one could connect the lyrics and symbolism of the music video for "The Cave" by Mumford & Sons to imperial India. For an extra credit homework assignment, write a 1/2 to 1 page reflection explaining how the song and video connect to what we have learned about India. Upload the reflection on the World History II page during vacation. (Click READ MORE after the video for the lyrics!)
